Going into this game: I wasn't a fan of card battlers. After playing through a couple times: I am still not a fan of card battlers. My main issue: unimpactful cards being crammed inside of my deck. After every fight the player chooses between 3 card variants to add to their deck, half the time none of them are very good, and there's no option to remove any of them or pick none. So a bunch of runs leave me stuck with a deck full of clutter.
I strongly disagree with the decision to make it so 5 size stacks immediately ends the run. I would've preferred if she just had some sort of [immobile] status ailment and her attacks were replaced with things like [burp] and [pass gas] that would eventually decrease her size when used enough times. Maybe [guard] could be replaced with [cry] and reduce the party's lust stacks.
Overall, I can at least respect the hustle. It's impressive that you made this in two weeks; but it feels like it was made in two weeks. Lastly, if you're going to end my run because my knight got too big...at least have the courtesy of making her explode.
1. I am not into anything gas-related. 2. This was made for a gamejam when I was also in college. I simply do not care about the actual quality this came out to be, as how well the game was received in the gamejam has long since passed. While I appreciate the feedback, it's feedback that will not lead to any changes I'll make, as I intend on not making any changes to begin with. 3. I am generally not into bursting.
I think this is a really fun game. I'd pay money to support something like this getting updated with more content.
I think the first thing that initially grabbed my attention is the papercraft work. I'm a sucker for all things papercraft in games and this did really well with what it had and I feel it could do so much more.
i just stood still in the secret boss with a few memory's until i felt it was right and beat the hell out of them ending them in 7 rounds. also good choice in music. for a fetish game its still damn good to play casually.
for context i grabbed all I needed from the floor's as well expecting them to attack immediately. note to self remember things don't always attack before you
Do you still plan on coming back to update the sprites? It's a shame they're not finished for such a good game. Also the game does seem to have a habit of crashing randomly after a card has been used.
cool game tho i think the mind clearer item just straight up crashes the game under certain conditions on the latest version (which sucks because theres no saving if you crash)
Is there anyway to reset or get rid of the bonuses from past cards? ive gotten so many of some to the point that they have become detrimental instead of beneficial. and if i cant then is there anyway to reset my save?
hey has any one else having the problem where the buttons on the UI are not where the supposed to be. For example when i try to click on options it clicks on skip turn
I gotta say you make some of the best expansion games period. Both this and the other title you currently have our absolutely amazing!
I noticed in the comments you have thought about coming back to this and fleshing it out a lot more, and I really do encourage you to do that because this REALLY fun to play. Keep up the great work!
This is really cool, and I like how the temptation cards change based on your fwoomp level. I would only say that you should make the Water Sprite and Portobelly have different sprites for different fwoomp levels, or even change the slimes or the flower to be humanoid and give them different sprites too. I think it'd be a nice touch.
Ok, this was LEAGUES better than I was expecting it to be, awesome job! But after playing it till 3am in one day, and being super satisfied with everything, I just got one question. Two, actually. 1: why does the first boss's theme go SO HARD? 2: how did you make the secret boss so good, I love the rising fear and intensity, but i honestly wanna know more about em. The fade to black got me good, but now i gotta KNOW.
The music unfortunately isn't something I made, but rather just really sick instrumentals I found - full credit goes to the original creators of both.
The secret boss was honestly me just having a vision for how I wanted it to go and then putting WAY too much effort into making it happen. For now, I won't reveal too much about the secret boss outside of that it's basically just the first boss, but really upset.
THAT'S ALREADY COOOOLLLL!!! Still, really cool game, way better than I was expecting! Now I wish I paid attention at the credits, because as much as I want to relisten to the boss themes, it's of a hassle to go back through the floors just to hear it. I know the secret boss's theme is Fight Or Flight, but the first bosses theme is SOOO GOOD, i gotta know who made it.
awfully ironic it took another night of playing it till 3am to beat the first boss with 2 gold, but I GOT IT!
now, its kinda bittersweet though. if this ever does get completely rehauled, im here day one. but even if it's left like this, then its still just as good

For now I do have other game ideas I want to get to though, even if they're less gameplay-focused like this one, and more visual-novel-focused like my previous game. I do hope they're things you can enjoy nonetheless!
Just going to say, it loves to crash when trying to use a states or potion on anything (Expected the Knight) when there seems to be a temptation card in hand, or its crashing from the turn ending while at the same time trying to get rid of a states. Other then that the game is great. (it just straight up crashes if you use a card to remove temptation while having an temptation card in your hand... I guess.)
hey uhh... just wanna ask, what does gold do? Cuz' i've beated the game twice and defeated both of the normal boss and the secret boss (the secret boss theme's great imo btw), so i have 2 golds now
It seems all the buttons on the ui are placed lower than there ment to be, trying to select the 'options' and 'help' instead it selects the 'skip turn' and 'run'. Is it because I'm using a laptop or something?
Currently I'm think of actually coming back to this in the future, but with a complete rehaul entirely. As in, from the ground up again, but with no time constraint, and FAR more content and polish in general. As for big updates for this specific version of the game, I think I'm probably going to leave it as is for the time being - gives me the time to focus on other games I want to make~
I would caution trying to overhaul previous projects, I've seen so many other games uncompleted because the dev wanted to do too much, leaving the original to gather dust. For now, if you were gonna return to the game I'd just worry about the sprites. At least then, if you got burnt out the original would be a good state.
Oh it's not anything I plan on doing anytime soon. This project entirely was a spur-of-the-moment thing, given that it was for a game jam anyway. If I do come back to this to overhaul it from the ground up, it'd be with the full intent on completing it.
And if I'm being honest, there is a certain sanctity in allowing a game jam submission to remain as itself. It is why I'm especially hesitant on doing too much with this current version of the game, and why I'm honestly not too upset by the concept of leaving this as is for a good while.

I didn't type this out expecting you to drop everything and re-craft your world in my image: just screeching into the void.
The secret boss is only findable after your first completed run.

Sadly couldn't play it, the window is slightly to big so I cant use options or help to fix it and can't resize it, and cant full screen which sucks

Look at the second floor maps very closely .
search for a secret path. as glitchy as it is dangerous. also nice profile. they make a good conductor

It does not do anything other than show how much you've beaten the bosses.
